$12,000 in scholarships to assist them on path to teaching
The Andover Townsman
Six Andover High School graduates who plan to pursue careers in education are among the recipients of the first Colleen E. Ritzer Memorial Scholarships.
Ritzer’s parents, Tom and Peggie, and her siblings, Dan and Laura, presented the scholarships at the high school’s annual awards breakfast prior to graduation on Monday, June 9.
Like Ritzer, the Andover High students singled out demonstrate a passion for teaching and academic excellence and possess a great love of family, the Ritzers say. They were awarded scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $2,500, for a total of $12,000.
